Our Favorite Tavernier RestaurantsTavernier restaurants are cozy and welcoming. Locals definitely frequent their favorite spots often enough for the servers to know their “usual” order. Restaurant owners greet you when you walk in to dine. If you visit long enough, you will get to know them as well. All the restaurant telephone numbers listed below use the (305) area code. Chad’s Deli and Bakery—MM 92.3—853-5566 One of our favorite lunch stops. Sandwiches are big here, our usual turkey on rye, is big enough for the hungriest diner. Other items to try are the Veggie Cobb and the Chicken Cobb Salads. The best pizza in town, served after 5:00 p.m. weekdays and all day weekends.
Craig’s Restaurant—MM 90.1—852-9424 Their fish sandwich has won accolades.
Dillon’s Pub and Grill—MM 91.5—852-6929 Located in the Winn Dixie plaza, this local pub serves beer, wine, liquor, and food. Be aware smoking is allowed in this establishment. They have some good lunch dishes and reasonable food prices.
Great Wall Chinese Restaurant—MM 91.5—852-8508 Also located in the Winn Dixie plaza, they have a small dining room and offer all the typical chinese foods. We usually get carry out here.
Old Tavernier Restaurant and Lounge—MM 90.3—852-6012 This restaurant has a small bar with several tables for casual dining. The main dining room offers quiet elegance and some of the finest dishes you'll find in the Keys. Opens at 4:00 p.m. Entrees range from $12 to $45 per person. Try the garlic rolls. Bring mints with you!
Made 2 Order—MM 90.7—852-3251 The Havana chicken sandwich is huge. A scoop of beans and rice is a top rated side dish. The blackened fish sandwich tastes great and the fish hangs outside the bread. Homemade baked goods line the counter to tempt you, so be prepared to wander off your diet.
