Attending Florida Keys Community College

Florida Keys Community College has three locations spread throughout the Keys. The main campus is located in Key West. Additional course offerings are available at the Middle Keys Center in Marathon and the Upper Keys Center in Tavernier.

FKCC is located near the only living coral reef in North America and is surrounded by the beautiful waters of the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. This unique setting adds to the attraction of attending this secondary education institution.

Class size averages between 15 and 20 students. Associate degrees and advanced diploma programs are offered in the arts, sciences, humanities, and social sciences.

Specialty degrees are available in vocational training, recreation, and industry certification and licensing. Some of those areas of study include criminal justice, educator preparation, commercial diving, marine technician, marine biology, and USCG captain program.

In addition to attending classes on one of the three campuses, FKCC has a virtual campus. Online classes, hybrid classes, correspondence classes, and telecourses are offered.

The faculty and staff are dedicated to providing an excellent program for their students. Most have real world experience related to the field they teach. Pupils can interact and ask questions in a comfortable learning environment.

The Library of the Learning Resources Center connects students and staff with quality resources. An interlibrary loan specialist can assist students in obtaining materials from neighboring resources as well.

The college and local property management agencies will assist students in finding housing to fit their needs and also in connecting with potential roommates. A few employment opportunities with housing are available through the National Park Service.

Students with disabilities will find advisors at the Student Services office to help them with any special accommodations that they might need.

Tuition for residents is approximately $80 per credit hour and for non-residents it jumps to approximately $300 per credit hour.

The financial aid office can assist students with information on finding the necessary resources to help pay for their educational expenses. Remember this is an investment in your future.
