Are you wondering what the Florida Keys has to offer?
We tell all from a local's perspective.

In the fabulous Florida Keys visitors and residents alike take pleasure in the tropical weather and turquoise waters at center stage in our island archipelago.

Our island chain starts just a few miles south of Miami and is made up of hundreds of mostly mangrove covered islands stretching to the south and west over 120 miles around the southern tip of mainland Florida.

The nearshore location of the Gulfstream current keeps our offshore waters flowing clear and warm all year-round. When you combine the nearly transparent seawater, where you can sometimes see bottom in depths of 100 feet, with the hundreds of warm sunny days we get in the Keys every year you can see why so many people come here to live and play.

With nearby access to the pristine waters of Everglades National Park, the southern Gulf of Mexico, and close proximity to the only living coral reef in the continental U.S. the Keys attracts divers, fishermen, boaters, sailors, and just about anybody else that loves the water.

Offshore charter fishing fleets operate out of Ocean Reef, Key Largo, Tavernier, Islamorada, Marathon, and Key West to provide fishing opportunities for the dozens of species of game and food fish that swim in our local waters.

Scuba divers will find dive shops dotted along the highway from Key Largo to Key West. Nearly all have their own dive boats to take you to any reef or wreck located in our neighboring waters.

Boaters will find the Florida Keys to be a beautiful yet sometimes challenging environment. Getting a local chart or guide can help make your trip safe and rewarding.

We have an abundance of shallow inshore waters that require the utmost care in navigation to prevent damage to any of our environmentally sensitive coral reefs or sea grass beds.

Lots of other fun activities can be found in the Keys too. You can parasail, sailboard, take an eco tour, hike, ride a bicycle, take an airplane ride, or just laze around and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.

If you just want to sip a cool drink, rest, relax, and enjoy the local flora and fauna you’ll find plenty of places to do just that. Many local establishments, restaurants, hotels, and motels do there best to provide visitors with a pleasing atmosphere to enjoy their time in the Keys.

We would like to be the first to welcome you to the fabulous Florida Keys.
